Lynette, I Love You pt. 2

by Drew Danburry

/

lyrics

Our son is 8 and life's the best
But over time love can be put to the test it's never quite that easy
Things evolve and people change
You felt like it was time to separate

Now I'm 41, still playing that guitar
I wrote this song to share some more things from my heart
We're still a team but not in love
We both agree that our son's number one
We're splitting up but we've enough for us to be happy

A person's more than what we want
We're complex social animals that need love
But what is love and who's to say
If we feel we'll both be better off this way
Her name's Lynette and we're divorced
I still think she's lovely

When calm and constant is broken
When human beings become tokens
